We didn't quite reach the Dec. 1 deadline to get Maren's tooth out; but on Sat. Dec. 4 Scott decided it was time. First he tried the doorknob approach, but he couldn't get the dental floss to stay on the tooth.

Next, he was going to try the pliers. As you can see, Maren was less than cooperative.

Scott confessed later that he was a little worried about trying that himself. After being unable to get Maren to hold still enough to even try, he went back to the dental floss and doorknob.

This time it worked! There was still much tears and bawling, but at least it was out.

Hopefully we won't have another loose tooth for at least a couple of months.

I remember being so tragic about my teeth coming out too. I still have dreams sometimes where they're wiggling when I'm stressed. Funny how that all seems so far away already.
this is is an awesome post....the comparison of her before-face to her after-face is quite amusing
Maren's face is priceless in the 4th picture. The little boys and I got a good laugh out of it. Tell Maren we are proud of her and love her!
Too bad it was so traumatic. I take it that it really needed to come out for the next tooth to have room, right? :) My mom used needlenosed plyers on one of mine. Other that that, she just used her fingers or a fingernail hooked under the edge. Sometimes it is okay to just wait it out.
