Moving

I've decided that moving is one of my least favorite things. It's not like I didn't have a whole month to get things ready, but it still was a headache. I've decided that for me less time would be better. I just mentally stress myself out and there is really only so much you can pack in advance. I think I had to go through two or three different boxes to find things that I was sure I wouldn't need in the next week and a half.

I had visions of being all organized and going and cleaning out our new place before we moved everything in, having everything all boxed the day before we got the moving van, etc. None of that happened.

Martha Ann getting the stomach flu for the first time ever didn't help. Poor thing just wanted to be held constantly while I had a million things to do. She's not old enough to lay on the couch and watch a movie so she was my constant appendage for three days. There's also nothing like packing up vomit covered clothes and sheets because the washing machine was already in the moving van. Luckily Maren was fine until we got the van all unloaded. She was feeling well on the drive to return the moving van, but held it until we got to the Uhaul parking lot. Lucky for us, but not so lucky for whoever parked there next.

I've decided I should always overestimate how much room and boxes I am going to need. We thought we would have plenty of room, but our moving van was way too small. After packing the pickup truck and the minivan as much as we could, we still had to come back the next week and pack up the truck and minivan again.

Thank goodness for Greg, Scott's dad. He was so much help. We couldn't have done it without him.

Thankfully, I am pretty much all unpacked. Nothing is hanging on my walls yet, but I think that will wait until Scott gets back.
We are excited to go to Utah next week and Maren is already praying every night that Grandpa Wynn will fly here safely. I'll have to tell her to add Marcus.

I have to agree with ALL your moving gripes. I, also thought I would be super organized, but by the end I was just throwing stuff in boxes and labeling them CRAP. I wish we could come see you guys in utah! have a great trip!

Glad you guys arrived safe and sound; except for the sick girls! It was good to see you a few weeks ago. We hope to see you guys again soon. Have a wonderful time in Utah.
