It's nice when your kids are young and are happy with just hanging around the house on their birthday. Maren would have loved a party but we don't really know that many people here. There are hardly any kids her age at church and honestly I don't like to do parties. So we just hung out at home.
We opened presents.
Maren loved her new dress from Aunt Nicole (Aunt Nicole is not really her aunt, but a good family friend who the girls adore). Lydia is in her current favorite outfit of an old slip.
Maren also got a new bike which we have been learning how to ride, or training as she calls it. All of you who called on her birthday know what her other gifts where. She had to give a complete rundown to pretty much everyone who called her. Thanks for all the calls, she loved them. 
We also went swimming which Martha Ann loved. Our swimming pool has since blown away and disappeared thanks to the lovely Texas wind.
We ended the day with pizza and cake. Maren wanted a strawberry cake, but we decided on chocolate with strawberries on it. It looks like she had a pretty good birthday, don't you think?

it looks like she had a very happy birthday indeed! martha ann is so adorable, I can't believe all that climbing...Bianca is WAY to timid and nervous to climb, which I am grateful for. I'm so jealous that you guys are in bathing suits, I would kill for some warm weather and sunshine right now...soak up a few extra rays for us here in washington!
Are you forgetting the best part? When her cousins came to visit her 2 days later?
(And you didn't even save us some of that cake? It looks SO good!)
