Packing Up

Packing up a house always seem to take us three times as long as we planned and we end up with three times as much stuff as we thought we had.

Since our lease was up in December, when Scott got the D.C. detail we decided to put our stuff in storage while we were gone. Luckily my mom was able to fly in and help with cleaning, packing, and the kids or I would have gone crazy. Mom, you were well worth it! After a few crazy days, and a very late night we were able to get everything in two storage sheds.

My mom flew home the morning of the day we left, Nov. 19. We probably should have had her fly out that afternoon. After a hectic morning and afternoon of packing and cleaning we were done. We were only a couple hours late returning the U-haul and Scott and I had only exchanged testy words once or twice. Not too bad considering. The kids had already spent a couple hours in the car in the driveway watching a movie to get them out of our hair while we finished up at the house.

We then had to go to unload the rest of our stuff at the storage shed. The kids got out and played for awhile.

Lydia's pant will never be the same. She slid down this too many times.

All of our stuff. We have definitely accumulated some stuff since we moved to El Paso.

After we returned the U-haul and had a quick stop at Scott's work we finally started driving around 5:30. Not the best way to start a four day road trip, but we all survived and made it to Arlington, VA just fine.
